August 2009 - Fairies, "spelunking"

We went to a cave south of Lake Geneva near St. Maurice one weekend in late-August.  GORGEOUS day...could not have been more beautiful.  But, glad I had jackets or the girls would have been miserable...the cave was cool.  The cave was called Grotte au Fees... en Anglais, that's Cave of the Fairies.  So, where fairies are involved our girls are happy to be there.  And to find out that the Fairies are really Barbie Dolls hidden throughout the cave...well, couldn't have any better news for them!  Automatic success.  So, we went on the walk thru the cave and found all 5 hidden "fairies".  On our way back home, we rode around while they napped and made a detour to see one of the windmills on the highway between Lake Geneva and the St. Bernard Pass into Italy.  I was impressed with their true size...it's obvious that they are big, but it wasn't obvious that they were that big until we got to it.

Kacey on the hike up to the cave.

Preparing for the trip

A reaction to the talk about dragons being in the cave.

In the cave...

...it's dark...duh.

At the little restaurant outside the cave...

July 15- Aug, 2009 - A trip to Atlanta

On July 15th, we flew from Zurich to Atlanta...we stayed until August 9th.  Here are a million pictures from our visit...we saw a lot of people, missed seeing even more people, and wore the kids "slap out".   My parents are saints for letting us take over their space and cars and phones for 3 weeks... we take up every room now!
It was a real treat to bring Will home...just as it was with Cambelle a year and half ago.  Our travels were uneventful except for Kacey's sick stomach...she's gets the 'travelling trooper' award along with Dave...I would have been much more cranky.  We had a little family party for Cambelle's 2nd birthday...since her first birthday was overtaken by a family stomach bug.   We took a day trip to lake Yonah, ate sushi, trucked up to the Chatanooga Allergy Clinic to see Dr. Marc, were treated to nice dinners with friends, swam with Steph and boys a lot, played and swam with Henry, Kate and other neighbors, saw old highschool friends and work friends, can't believe Hannah got me some muscadines, ate a million figs, had too many Krispy Kreme's...the list is endless.  "Down home..."  a nice place...
