So, as for timing of everything, we had to move out of our house in October...our landlord wanted our house for her daughter so we were kicked out. Very thankfully, Dave's company offered him a new position back in Atlanta ... relocating in Switzerland would have been VERY complicated and would have tied us down there much longer than we were wanting with Kacey getting near school age. So, with a 5 month old, a 2 year old and a 5 year old, we moved into a temporary apartment...2 bedrooms and a very grouchy downstairs neighbor who really despised me (I digress....). It was stressful...no dryer, elevator, living from suitcases, crammed in with tiny kids, neighbor wanting kids to be silent at all times, no oven, not a lot of dishes, a long walk to the car with all our stuff, rental car, no computer and only a local phone, general moving chaos of not really knowing where anything is, etc... typical ... but looking back on it, it was a sweet time. Not a lot of 'stuff' to manage...it was packed up. Walked everywhere because I could and I had to. The kids just had a couple of things to play with...so we played better. We had a killer view... couldn't have made that any better. Will was not mobile... that was good. We didn't have many cloths so clothes were worn a lot OR hanging around the apartment to dry. The washer hose disconnected...I flooded the place... but Kacey caught it just in time and Scott Billington came to the rescue because Dave was out of town for all excitement of that sort. The memories go on and on of time there... it was good now ... like things often are... things that aren't so good become good as time passes.
Other notes about these pictures....You'll also note Kacey change in appearance at points... her friend player barber one day and cut her hair. You can't miss it. I chose to laugh... I preferred my shoes over the shoes of her friends mother and chose to laugh. Fortunately, hair grows back so no harm was done. But the hair do is a change! That happened on the same day that Tom and Katie had their first baby...Laura. They helped with our kids so much...and I moved away just at the time that I had a chance to return the favor...and oh how I would have liked to have returned it...she was sweet! So sweet... but I'm watching her grow electronically unfortunately.
In pictures toward the bottom, you'll see us moving from our house and Kacey's 5th birthday party...our last hoorah before moving out of our house. An all day event with all of our friends....lots of fun.
